Let’s say that you are talking with Orange Hat Publishing or an agent or your writing group about your memoir, and they ask you this question: What is your narrative arc?

If you aren’t an English professor, you may feel a little uncomfortable at this point.

In this webinar, we will talk about what a narrative arc is, what it does, and how it can help you. I will tell you how writers I’ve worked with have found their narrative arcs. While it’s not quick or easy, creating your narrative arc is doable. By the end of the webinar, you will know if you want to pursue this method, and what the process ahead entails.

This will be an interactive webinar with opportunities to brainstorm. If you are on the fence about taking the fall WWA workshop Memoir: Creating Your Narrative Arc with Catherine Stover, this will be a perfect time to ask questions.

Bio: Catherine Stover was introduced to the power of memoir when her 79-year-old grandfather wrote a 100-page book about his life. He asked her to be his typist. She saw how his book helped future generations understand family history and how it shaped the way this grandfather is remembered. She has taught memoir classes and workshops for a decade, and is an award-winning writer and an award-winning teacher. She is the author of the book A Palette of Memories: Finding Clarity in Memoir, which the Wisconsin Writers Association will publish in March of 2027.
