Attention, aspiring authors! Are you ready to connect with a vibrant community of like-minded wordsmiths for an hour of inspiration?

The Wispresso Cafe—is where books, writing, coffee, and conversation brew together for Wisconsin authors. Hosted by TK Sheffield and starring a rotating cast of your favorite Wisconsin Writers Association (WWA) personalities, this is your chance to find your voice, share your story, and be inspired by other creatives.

Cozy up with your favorite mug, chat about your Work in Progress (WIP), polish your author bio, and get the scoop on all things WWA. Whether you’re wrestling with writer’s block, dreaming of your next big plot twist, or itching to network, The Wispresso Cafe is where magic happens. Coffee optional!

Fall/Spring lineup:

  • September 6, 10am CST - Christina Clancy
    • The Wispresso Cafe kicks off fall with Christina Clancy, keynote speaker for the WWA’s annual conference on October 3-4. This event is open to all WWA members! Sign up and enjoy a lively morning of connection and inspiration, bringing together writers and readers from across the Midwest to celebrate the art of words.
  • October 25, 10am CST: Pamela Fullerton
    • Join TK and author Pamela Fullerton, a prize winning author, storyteller, journalist, and documentarian. She is a Wisconsin native, one of 16 siblings, all Preacher’s Kids. At age 15, she started college at UW-Madison and completed her law degree there. She had careers in Teaching, Human Resources, Educational Administration, Administrative Law, and Race Horse Trainer. Pam is a WWA Press author with Red Road Redemption, a captivating collection of short stories.
Her latest title with the press is Tales of a Preacher’s Brood, chronicling her life in rural Wisconsin with humor, heart, and a deep connection to the land and its people. Set against the backdrop of Central Wisconsin’s rolling hills, red gravel roads, and iconic dairy farms, the book weaves together tales of family, farming, and the unsung heroes that shape rural existence.

  • November 15, 10am CST: Kristin Lenz
    • Kristin is an author, blogger, decorator, and owner of White Arrows Home the Shop in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Her book helps readers identify their passions, make dreams a reality, and connect with others in meaningful and fulfilling ways—a perfect theme for the Thanksgiving episode of Wispresso Cafe. Join TK and Kristin for this episode, where you’ll learn to follow your arrow, and find more direction and connection in life.

  • December 20, 10am CST: Valerie Biel
    • Enjoy a “Best of” episode with author and book marketing expert Valerie Biel. Valerie Biel writes books for middle grade to adult audiences, stories inspired by her travels and her insatiable curiosity. Most recently, her YA and middle-grade books earned IBPA and MIPA awards. She is a marketer, world traveler, and frequent speaker for WWA. In this fun episode, Valerie and TK will share inspiration from 2025 and look at what’s ahead for Wisconsin writers in 2026.

  • January TBD: Kerri Berg, Thirst Bookstore
    • Join TK Sheffield and Kerrie Berg for a Valentine’s Episode. Kerrie is the owner of Thirst, Milwaukee’s first and only romance bookstore located in the “Romance District" of the city, and host to events such as Advanced Hockey Studies Book Club and Romance Con. Discover what’s hot in romance and find book recommendations for your Valentine, Galentine—or yourself!

  • March 21, 10am CST: Cozy Takeover with Heather Doyle Harrison and Shawn Stevens
    • Heather and Shawn are founders of the popular “Cozy Takeover” Facebook events. They’re both fans of the genre and have interviewed hundreds of authors for mystery fans. In this episode, the tables are turned and TK interviews them about their favorite books, most interesting interviews, and inspiration for starting the group.
