WISCONSIN WRITERS ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER/NEWSBRIEF & EMAILS

If you have subscribed to our newsletter or if you are a member of our website (you can log in) or if you have purchased on our website, there is a good chance you will receive emails from us.

We will only send you emails which you have signed up to receive, or which pertain to the services we provided to you.

To send you emails, we use the name and email address you provide us. Our site also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service to prevent abuse of the system.

This website can send emails through the Wild Apricot Membership Platform sending service. This service allows us to track opens and clicks on our emails. We use this information to improve the content of our newsletters.

No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for the email address.

COMMENT POLICY
Two words: Be nice. People throughout the world already spend too much time tearing each other down and competing with one another. This is not the place for harsh criticisms or negativity. We are in this together. Everyone is on the same team! And while WWA welcome ideas from readers of all walks of life, WWA simply asks that those ideas be expressed with respect and honor for one another with dignity and a little (or, if the situation warrants, BIG) dollop of grace.

MEMBER FORUM COMMENTS & POSTS
When members leave forum comments and posts on the site, we collect the data shown in the forum post message form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Wild Apricot service to see if you are using it. The Wild Apricot service privacy policy is available here: https://www.wildapricot.com/privacypolicy.

MEDIA
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

To comment in the member forum on our site you must be a member. As a member you opt-in to saving your name, email address and profile information in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details when you leave member forum comments. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

ANALYTICS – WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH & HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you leave a post comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For user members that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA
