Industry Award: David Thome

The film noir thriller screenplay "Talking Pictures," written by my writing partner and wife Mary Jo and me, was awarded Top 10 status--out of about 5,000 entries--in the 2024 International Screenwriters Association's Emerging Screenwriter Competition for Suspense. "Talking Pictures" also advanced to the second round of the 2024 Page International Suspense Screenplay Competition. It's now ranked in the top 11% of all scripts registered by the tracking service Coverfly. Meanwhile, our sci-fi thriller "Terminal Sex" also advanced to the second round in Page. "Terminal Sex" had been optioned in 1997, but we recently rewrote it to reflect the emergence of new technologies. We've been pitching it to producers and have had several requests to read the full script.
