Keep Your Story Straight - Series Writing

Writing a series can quickly become unwieldy, especially if you don’t plan ahead. So how do you write a series so that you keep your storylines straight, introduce characters at the right time, and wrap it all up with a bow at the end?  Join Silvia Acevedo, author of award-winning God Awful trilogy, as she shares practical strategies keep it all together.


Silvia Acevedo is a journalist, author, and co-leader of two associations for writers and illustrators.

In her 25+ years in news, she’s interviewed presidential candidates and covered national and international stories for CNN, local TV, and radio and newspapers around the country. She guest hosted a television morning talk show for the Milwaukee NBC affiliate and continues to write for various magazines and news publications. Silvia’s fiction focuses on magical worlds. God Awful Rebel, the final book in her mythological trilogy, won the coveted Spark Award from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Find the books here.

Silvia is also co-leader of the Wisconsin chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and co-founder of Fantasy Art Workshop’s “Illustration Intensive.”

Silvia is currently setting her sights on entering the publishing world. She is proud to be an Autumn 2020 intern at the New York literary agency, Writers House.
