Bio
Laurie Scheer is a writing mentor, consultant, editor, speaker, and a co-founder of New Nature Writers. As a former development executive in the entertainment industry, Laurie analyzed manuscripts, scripts, treatments and projects as they entered the competitive media marketplace. Laurie has been an instructor at numerous universities across the U.S. from Yale to UCLA. As a professional speaker, she has appeared at numerous annual writing conferences. As the Director of UW Madison’s annual Writers’ Institute for over a decade, Laurie was the managing editor of The Midwest Prairie Review, and a writing mentor to hundreds of students of all ages in person and online. She is currently writing and marketing treatments for streaming movie content, mentoring writers, serving on four boards of writing organizations, conducting online courses and participating in Tai Chi and Qi Chong disciplines weekly.
