Bio
DebFarris is a writer living in Milwaukee and proud to be a member of Wisconsin Writers. She is a former equity actor/singer who performed extensively in New York City and throughout the United States. Farris served as Executive Director of the nonprofit arts organization Danceworks Inc. for eighteen years, receiving the Business Journal, Woman of Influence Award for nonprofit leadership.
She is the author of two nonfiction narratives: Just Along for the Ride, released in July 2025 by Ten16 Press. and Conversations with Dad published in 2017 by Westbow Press. She holds an MFA from UW-Milwaukee in Dance, is working on her debut novel, and writes weekly on her blog to encourage hope in the hard places. She lives in the house where she grew up with her very tall red-headed husband, their very large red-haired dog, and a sassy feral cat, all of which she loves like crazy.
