Bio
Silvia Acevedo is a children’s book author and winner of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators’s Spark Award for GOD AWFUL REBEL, the final book in her mythological trilogy. Her newest work comes out in the fall of 2024, a short story in the anthology THE HAUNTED STATES OF AMERICA (Henry Holt/Macmillan).
Silvia is also the co-founder of Fantasy Art Workshop’s Illustration Intensive, a week-long workshop for aspiring and professional illustrators. Silvia has also worked in New York publishing Scholastic, literary agentcy Writers House, and Inkluded, a non-profit championing diversity. She also led the Wisconsin chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and sat on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Writers Association."
