Bio
Kerry Ames is a product of the Midwest, born in Wisconsin. He received degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and then a master’s degree in Sociology from The Ohio State University. Graduate school convinced him he’d make a poor and unhappy professor, so he abandoned the academic track and worked in both the public and private sectors. He lives in Central Wisconsin, among the jack pine, deer, cranes, and turkeys, mulling over history, genealogy, science, and religion. During good weather, he can be spotted in his bright jersey bicycling long, flat stretches of rural roads. He is sustained in rare comfort by Donna, his wife, after she first attends to the needs of their two cats, who remain oblivious to their pampered circumstances.
His novel, WE THREE, examines the Nativity Story but begins with the reasonable assumption that enthusiastic men from the East began their trek not knowing where they were going or who/what they might meet. Despite setbacks, Romans, and a sinister King Herod, they continue to follow a star and find it shines over lowly Bethlehem. High, unfounded expectations clash with humble, deflating reality. This is the culmination of Jewish prophecy? Read on.
