Bio
I am a retired hospice chaplain and currently work as a hospice consumer advocate, write a monthly blog on hospice issues, end-of-life care, and the latest issues and current trends in the hospice industry.
My book: “Surviving Hospice: A Chaplain’s Journey Into the Business of Dying” is a memoir/investigative narrative about my experiences working for a national for-profit, family-owned hospice chain after it was purchased by a private equity firm.
I relate the poignant stories of the final weeks of four patients and the harm they endured because of the influence and meddling of professional investors in our clinical practices starting in late 2011-2012. I also include a section on how to find a trustworthy hospice company; one that places patients as their primary stakeholders.
My book was published by Manhattan Book Group in NYC in October, 2023. It’s selling on Amazon, through Barnes & Noble, and my website.
